Ingredients

Scale

For the Burger Patties:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Mac ‘n’ Cheese Stuffing:

  • 2 cups cooked macaroni pasta
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup cooked and crumbled bacon
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp paprika

Optional Toppings:

  • Lettuce
  • Tomato slices
  • Extra bacon strips
  • Additional cheese slices

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mac ‘n’ Cheese Filling:
    • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute to create a roux.
    • Gradually add milk, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.
    • Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted, then add the cooked macaroni, crumbled bacon, and paprika. Mix well and set aside.
  2. Make the Burger Patties:
    • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until well incorporated.
    • Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a thin patty.
  3. Stuff the Burgers:
    • Place a generous spoonful of the mac ‘n’ cheese mixture in the center of 4 patties.
    • Top with the remaining 4 patties and press the edges tightly to seal the stuffing inside.
  4. Cook the Burgers:
    • Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Cook the stuffed burgers for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  5. Assemble and Serve:
    • Allow the burgers to rest for a few minutes after cooking. Serve on buns with your choice of toppings.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, consider using a mix of cheeses in the stuffing, such as mozzarella or gouda.
  • These burgers can be made ahead of time by preparing the patties and filling separately, then assembling and cooking when ready to serve.
  • You can freeze the stuffed patties for up to a month. Thaw them before cooking for best results.
