The caramelized peaches add a rich, syrupy sweetness that complements the savory, smoky bacon, while the melted cheddar cheese ties everything together. Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 2 ripe peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lettuce and tomato slices for garnish

Instructions

  • Cook the Bacon: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels. Reserve a small amount of bacon fat in the skillet.
  • Caramelize the Peaches: In the same skillet, add butter and brown sugar. Once melted, add peach slices. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until caramelized. Remove and set aside.
  • Prepare the Burger Patties: Season ground beef with salt and pepper. Shape into 4 patties. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
  • Add Cheese: During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover with a lid to melt the cheese.
  • Toast the Buns: Toast the burger buns in a separate skillet or toaster.
  • Assemble the Burgers: On each toasted bun, place a beef patty with melted cheese, caramelized peaches, and crispy bacon. Add lettuce and tomato if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Cheese Substitute: Feel free to use your favorite cheese like Swiss or provolone.
  • Vegetarian Option: Replace the beef patty with a vegetarian burger patty and omit the bacon.
  • Frozen Peaches: If using frozen peaches, thaw and drain them well before caramelizing.
  • Advance Prep: Caramelized peaches can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator.
