Ingredients
Scale
- For the Pasta:
- 12 oz pasta (penne, fusilli, or your choice)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- For Garnish:
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- Additional crumbled bacon (optional)
- Extra shredded cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta:
- Boil a large pot of salted water. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the Bacon and Beef:
- Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Set aside to drain on paper towels.
- In the same skillet, add olive oil and sauté the diced onion until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up as it cooks. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, then drain any excess fat.
- Make the Sauce:
- Add drained tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and heavy cream to the cooked beef. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer. Cook for 5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Stir in 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy. Season with salt and pepper.
- Combine and Serve:
- Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat. Stir in crumbled bacon, reserving some for garnish if desired.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley, extra bacon, and a sprinkle of cheese.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half, and use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef.
- You can add vegetables like bell peppers or spinach for extra nutrition.
- Experiment with different cheeses like mozzarella or gouda for a unique flavor twist.
