  • For the Burger Patties:
    • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef (80/20 blend)
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1/2 tsp black pepper
    • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
    • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • For the Bacon:
    • 8 slices bacon
    • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • For Assembling the Burgers:
    • 4 slices cheddar cheese
    • 4 brioche buns, toasted
    • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
    • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
    • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
    • 4 leaves lettuce
    • 1 large tomato, sliced

Instructions

  • Prepare the Bacon:
    Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place bacon on a lined baking sheet, brush with maple syrup, and bake for 15-20 minutes until crispy.
  • Make the Burger Patties:
    In a large bowl, mix ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Shape into 4 patties.
  • Cook the Patties:
    Grill or cook in a skillet over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes per side. Add cheddar cheese in the last minute to melt.
  • Assemble the Burgers:
    Spread mayonnaise and mustard on the buns. Layer with lettuce, tomato, a burger patty, bacon, and red onion. Top with the other half of the bun.

  • Substitutions: Ground turkey or chicken can be used instead of beef.
