Instructions

  • Prepare the Shortcake Buns:
    • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
    • In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
    • Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    • Gradually add heavy cream, mixing until just combined.
    • Roll the dough out to a 1/2-inch thickness and cut out buns.
    • Place on a baking sheet, brush with beaten egg, and bake for 12-15 minutes.
    • Let cool on a wire rack.
  • Cook the Burger Patties:
    • Mix ground beef with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
    • Shape into four patties and cook on a grill or skillet for 4-5 minutes per side.
    • Add a slice of cheese during the last minute of cooking.
  • Assemble the Burgers:
    • Slice shortcake buns in half, spread whipped cream cheese on the bottom.
