- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp balsamic glaze

For the Shortcake Buns:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 egg, beaten (for brushing)
Instructions
- Prepare the Shortcake Buns:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in heavy cream until the dough begins to come together. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently.
- Roll the dough to about 1-inch thickness. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out 4 buns.
- Place the buns on a baking sheet, brush with beaten egg, and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Set aside to cool.
- Cook the Bacon and Burgers:
- In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Season the ground beef with salt and pepper, then form into 4 patties.
- In the same skillet, cook the patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes per side or until fully cooked.
- Add a slice of cheddar cheese to each patty during the last minute of cooking, allowing it to melt.
- Assemble the Burgers:
- Slice the shortcake buns in half horizontally.
- Spread a layer of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun.
- Place a beef patty on top, followed by a few slices of strawberries, crispy bacon, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze.
- Top with the other half of the shortcake bun.
