Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix the Meatloaf: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, crumbled bacon, shredded cheese, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the Loaf: On a parchment-lined baking sheet, form the meat mixture into a loaf shape.
- Bake the Meatloaf: Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Let it cool slightly.
- Wrap in Puff Pastry: Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C). Roll out the puff pastry, place the cooled meatloaf in the center, and wrap the pastry around it. Seal the edges and brush with beaten egg.
- Bake the Wellington: Bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Make sure the meatloaf cools slightly before wrapping in puff pastry to prevent the pastry from becoming soggy.
- Customize the cheese and seasonings to your liking for different flavor profiles.
