- 1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (plus extra for topping)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or skillet over medium heat.
- Combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and thyme in a large bowl. Mix until well combined.
- Fold in the crumbled bacon gently into the meat mixture.
- Shape the mixture into 6 equal patties, about 1 inch thick.
- Cook the patties for 5-6 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
- Brush the patties with BBQ sauce during the last 2 minutes of cooking and let it caramelize.
- Serve the patties hot with additional BBQ sauce if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the meat mixture.
- These patties can be frozen before cooking; just be sure to thaw completely before grilling.
